Step Outside

Until now, the DJI showreel of the year was leaning on a simple efficient formula, dynamic editing with a piece of music equally dynamic. For this year I proposed to change the concept a bit, to try another angle. I made my editing before I had a clear idea of what I had in mind, then when the direction got more evident, I started to think about the voice-over. At first, I wanted only a little girl’s voice, but the dialogue concept came out and after a few tries, the use of a grandmother’s voice to answer her granddaughter made just sense. The most difficult part was to find the words that connected the best to the images while keeping the conversation between both characters as natural as possible.
